Tomorrow (Sunday October 7) is the Burning Man Decompression Party, a "a showcase for our art and community in San Francisco".  Basically it's  the Dead Dog party for Burning Man. If you've been, then it's a fine reminder. If you haven't been, it's a fun street festival.

Short post after a long weekend:

HP and books...
Midnight Friday: the line took an hour, I then read for 2 hours, slept, and then continued reading Saturday until done. At the fan-heavy party we then went to, I wore a "Yes I've read it" sticker, B wore "No, not done yet." Satisfying.  Then until today- when he finished- I answered every question ( Read more... )

Last night Burning Man held their Desert Arts Preview- a meet the art and artists for the Art Foundations  funded projects of 2007.

Overall an impressive set of projects and a good way to meet the artists, because on the Playa they'll be frazzled.

I encourage science fiction fans who aren't going to the Worldcon in Yokohama to consider visiting the town, country and world of Burning Man (1).
Why am I doing this? Same reasons and motivations why we want people who haven't been to a con to go to cons. You'll enjoy it. The more the merrier.
